First Portadown Presbyterian Church is a member of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. We have been serving the community and seeking to make Christ known in the Edenderry area of Portadown since 1822.
We are a diverse Church, made up of many ages and backgrounds, yet we are united in our love and need for Jesus and our desire to share the good news of his heart-transforming, life-giving Gospel with those who do not yet know him.
As a member of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, we align to a ‘Reformed’ Theology, whereby we believe the Bible’s clear, authoritative teaching on God’s Sovereignty and Jesus’ Kingship. We gather for Worship each Sunday Morning at 11:00am and Sunday evening at 6:30pm and Midweek fellowship on Wednesday evenings at 8:00pm.
When you arrive at Church, one of the Welcome team will meet you at the door. Feel free to mingle and chat or head straight in to the meeting house where you can take a seat for the service.
During the service, there will be times of prayer, worship, teaching from the Bible (about 25 minutes) and an offering. You will not be expected to give money or join with the singing if you don’t want to. There is no dress code for Church – some people wear jeans and a tshirt, others wear suits or dresses – so whatever you feel most comfortable in is best! During the service, a Creche and Children’s Programme are available.
After the service, you can join us in the lecture hall for some tea, coffee and a bun (or 3!) Make yourself known to one of the servers and they would love to get to know you.
