First Portadown Presbyterian Church Family Discipleship worker

Applications are invited for this full time post based on a two year contract, to join the ministry team at First Portadown Presbyterian Church.
This is a full time post 37-5 hours involving evenings and weekend work. Salary will be in line with PCI Salary scale £22849 annually
The person appointed will be expected to focus on developing relationships with the families connected to the congregation, and in the local community, and to assist us in the promotion of active discipleship – encouraging members towards participation and service within the life of the church.

They will be expected to share in the preaching responsibilities each month and play a full part in the life of the congregation.

Fostering Information Evening – Friday 27th April 2018

Home for Good and the Southern Trust Fostering and Adoption team invite anyone interested in long term or short term fostering along to an information evening on Friday 27th April from 7.30 – 9.30pm here in the church.  The event will be co-ordinated by ‘Home for Good’ in partnership with the Southern Health and Social Care Trust.  Whilst the event is hosted by First Portadown Presbyterian Church, invites are extended to members of other local congregations.  The event is also an opportunity to learn more about the work of Home for Good,  an organisation which supports existing foster carers and adopters within Christian settings.  For more information contact Lisa Patton on 02837 560750 between 9-5 Monday – Friday. Container to Malawi – Living Tree Project

There is a container leaving on 1st April to go to Lyn Dowds in Livingstone, Malawi.
The container will include medical items for the David Gordon Memorial Hospital and educational items for the local primary schools.
There will be boxes and a list of required items placed beside the food bank donations outside the main hall.

The items need to be in church by Tuesday 27th March 2018.

Presentation for Retirement of Anne Patterson – Sunday 18th February 2018

The Congregation of First Portadown recognised the retirement of Anne Patterson, after more than twenty years of faithful service as Church Administrator.  Minister: Robin Brown and Clerk of Session: John Finlay presented Anne with a cheque and a cake to mark the occasion.

At a reception after Morning Worship, Rosie Fee expressed the appreciation of the Congregation members for all the work Anne had so conscientiously carried out and presented her with flowers to mark the occasion.
