A Festival of Hope – Virtual Prom Praise – Saturday 2nd May 2020 – 7:30pm – 9:00pm
A Festival of Hope
– Virtual Prom Praise
Prom Praise is a highly anticipated annual event at the Royal Albert Hall, so they were so disappointed on behalf of their audience and the hundreds of musicians who usually take part from across the globe that it had to be cancelled due to COVID-19. However, they are thrilled that the Royal Albert Hall has joined them to acknowledge that during these times, more than ever before, the world needs hope and inspiration. They are grateful for the opportunity to bring their Festival of Hope, this year’s Prom Praise, virtually, into millions of homes around the world, as a featured event in the RAH digital series.
A Festival of Hope – Virtual Prom Praise will bring together some of the best content from the last 10 years of events in the Hall, combining these with greetings from guest artists past and present. Brian Doerksen, Lucy Grimble and concert pianist Grace Yeo have submitted original recordings from their homes to be included in the broadcast. Combined with archival footage from Prom Praise, the likes of which have gathered more than 4 million YouTube hits in recent years, the programme will also include music from The Kingdom Choir.
All Souls Church‘s Rector, Hugh Palmer will share a new Pause for Thought and there will be a spectacular performance from a virtual choir and orchestra, gathering over 240 singers and players from around the world. All of this will be linked together by the All Souls Orchestra’s new Director of Music, Michael Andrews… from the comfort of his sitting room!
Put 2 May 7:30 PM in your diary now!
Make a note to join them at 7.30pm (BST) on Saturday 2 May 2020 to come together around that message of hope.
